IBS news flash. Gas-predominant IBS subgroup markedly improves with Paroxetine
Severe complaints of excess flatulence, bloating, rumbling helped by the SSRI
There is a distinct subgroup of people with IBS who report severe intestinal-gas symptoms such as flatulence, bloating, or rumbling as their most distressing symptom.
These symptoms are often refractory, or unresponsive to treatment.
A new Cureus study found that Paroxetine, an SSRI medication that works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain, may be an effective long term treatment for refractory gas-predominant IBS.
And more help for IBS bloating and gas…
You are not alone.
